LAMM

The LAMM is a tool to monitor the degree of student activity following the implementation of Active and Cooperative Learning techniques in engineering courses. This will involve applying a Learner Activity Monitoring Matrix – LAMM for systematic observation either in-class by an observer or post-class using a video record.

The LAMM includes several criteria as:

- Listening to lecturer or other student
- Resolving exercises/problems (individual)
- Checking/ comparing answers
- Pair discussion or other pair-work
- Group work
- Others

The LAMM is a dynamic tool which allows for the establishment of a Student Activity Index as well as of a Participation Parameter.
